What is it and what does it do?The Makerbot Sketch 3D printer prints objects in plastic.

Specifications:

  • Build plate is 5.9 x 5.9 x 5.9 inches
  • Uses polyactic acid (PLA) filament, a nontoxic resin made of sugar derived from field corn
  • PLA colors include: red, orange, yellow, lime green, light blue, royal blue, purple, black, white, and gray
  • Acceptable file types include: .thing, .makerbot, .stl, .skp

Perfect for: Prototypes, replacement parts, inventions, science projects, etc...

User Guidelines: Because of the demand, users are welcome to use the machine up to 10 hours a month. You can find the estimated print time by using the Makerbot Desktop Print program, a free download from Makerbot.
