A notary public of the common law is a public officer constituted by law to serve the public in non-contentious matters usually concerned with general financial transactions, estates, deeds, powers-of-attorney, and foreign and international business.

East Granby Library is happy to provide Notary services. Please remember to bring required personal identification. There is no fee for East Granby residents, though donations are gratefully accepted.

Please note: notarizations of vital records are not allowed. Examples of vital records include birth certificates, death certificates, and marriage certificates. In the United States, vital records are typically issued and maintained at the county or state level by offices such as a county clerk or recorder’s office, registrar’s office, or vital records office.
